A sturdy bench top mounted unit for torsion testing of varying material test specimens to failure/destruction. Using a speed controlled electric motor torque is applied through the drive gearboxes rigidly attached at one end of the base frame. At the other end of the base frame a torsion head measures the torsion being applied.
