Laser Cutting / Engraving Machines have increased in popularity within D&T rooms across the country, and the volume of product sold continues to increase.  However, it appears that some products that are offered for sale to UK schools may not conform to Health and Safety standards and, most importantly, the current CE directive.

Buyers are often focused on price, but issues relating to CE marking need to be a major consideration when purchasing a Laser Cutter / Engraver.  CE marking is mandatory for all products sold within the 27 countries of the European Union and guarantees that the product has been ‘risk assessed’ prior to manufacture.
